Too Many Bath Can Trigger Cancer
Daily Mail writes a doctor at the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) Castilla la Mancha do, Spain, Dr. Gemma Castano-Vinyals states that too much bathing or swimming potentially affected by bladder cancer.
According to Gemma, the potential development of bladder cancer was due to carcinogenic compounds called trihalomethanes (THMs), created as a byproduct of water containing chlorine, which can be absorbed through the skin. So, people who regularly swim in a pool containing chlorine or bathing too often can put themselves at risk of getting cancer.
"People who have a lot of money and adequate education, were more likely to think that they reduce the risk of contamination of drinking water with bottled water. But on the other hand, when you clean yourself with bath or swimming activities with more time to clean, it actually they're increasing the risk of exposure to THM "said Gemma.
However, she assured that the additional risk of developing bladder cancer because it absorbs relatively small THMs. He and his colleagues then look for exposure to THMs in 1270 people in Spain. The results appear online in BioMed Central.
